Welcome ICLWers

This is my first time to participate in ICLW (International Comment Leaving Week), and it is awesome to read about so many different TTC journeys. Since I don’t have an About Me box (yet?), here’s a little intro to my blog.

Honey Bear and I have been trying (and failing) to get knocked up since 2008. We’ve done a couple years of charting, peeing on a stick, being confused, pissed off and depressed. We’ve spent some time popping Clomid and Femara with timed intercourse. We’ve had an  HSG, semen analysis, laparascopy and hysteroscopy. I have had 4 IUIs with Clomid and follicle check ultrasounds and 1 ICI with the same. I have never, ever, ever had a positive pregnancy test. Ever. My cycles are irregular and PCOS is the working diagnosis. We recently went to see an RE for a consultation, and after some thinking we have decided to take a break before we decide whether to go through with the ordered tests and follow up appointment. We are pretty much out of money for the time being, and my mind and body are pretty much broke too. So here I am, on a break and not having a clue what is next. Oh, and we are also in the early stages of pursuing public foster-to-adopt.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hello…I’m here from ICLW and your comment on my blog (thanks for that!) I know that deciding to take an extended break from IF testing and treatment is very difficult, and doing it even more so! If our IVF doesn’t work then my husband and I will be in the same place (mostly due to financial reasons, but I’m sure my body will need a break too), and I’m pretty petrified about how I’ll handle that.
I think it’s great that you guys are pursuing foster to adopt! I’ll definitely be following your journey!

  2. Taking time off makes a lot of sense. It’s such an expensive and emotional process and if you go further, you want to be all-in. It also helped for my husband and I to discuss how far we would go, how long, etc. before actually starting IVF. Good luck!

  3. I agree that taking time off is great for the mind and the body. I hope it gives you the clarity and peace that you need. And I’ve heard great things about foster to adopt… Best of luck with that!

  4. Welcome to ICLW! I hope you’re enjoying it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. 🙂

I hope you and Honey Bear have a refreshing break and are able to figure out what your next step is. Infertility is such a monster.
