H is for (Bluebird of) Happiness

Posted on: April 9, 2012

Birds are sort of my thing right now. Based off the Emily Dickinson poem “Hope is the thing with feathers,” birds are sort of my symbol of hope and happiness these days. On a recent trip to Terra Studios, Honey Bear and I got to roam the grounds, watch butterflies, play a game of chess with giant pieces, check out crafts and watch a guy make Bluebirds of Happiness. It was cool to see how quickly the craftsperson can take a glob of red-hot glass and transform it into a beautiful bird.

Here’s a photo of a gazebo made of Bluebirds of Happiness

What is your symbol of happiness?

That is BEAUTIFUL!!! I have one of those little glass blue birds too! My symbol of happiness is having my boyfriend home with me.
